Murillo Santiago Costa dos Santos is a centre-back for Nottingham Forest, born on 4 July 2002. The left-footed defender is currently in his third season at the City Ground. The club secured him with a contract until 30 June 2030.
Scouts view him as a quiet, reliable defender who evolved into an elite asset since his arrival. He stands at 183 cm. In the current 2026/27 campaign, he has recorded one assist and a 7.33 average rating over 448 minutes.
Murillo moved from SC Corinthians U20 to the first team in January 2023. He joined the club in August 2023 for €12m when his value was then €3.5m. Vítor Pereira stabilized the defense, leading them to survival and the Europa League semifinals. This stability prompted his recent contract renewal.
Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are tracking him ahead of the January window. This interest persists despite a dip in his form at the start of the season. Forest are asking for up to £80 million, roughly €94m, which would break the record for a centre-back. His estimated transfer value is currently €63.5m, leaving a gap of over €30m from the club's demand.
Murillo could move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester United in January. The player, a centre-back under contract until June 2030, has been tracked by United as a defensive target.
