Konstantinos Mavropanos

Konstantinos Mavropanos is a Greek centre-back currently at West Ham United. Born on 11 December 1997, he is a central part of Nuno Espirito Santo's tactical setup. He partners with Max Kilman as the club battles for a return to the top tier.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Mavropanos functions as an aerially dominant defender who provides a serious threat in the final third. He wins 74 percent of his aerial duels, a high rate used to contrast him with direct strikers like Lyndon Dykes. He is brilliant in his own box and maintains a high level of focus. His attacking involvement is impressive; he averages a goal or assist every other game, with four involvements in eight matches this season.

Career and Recent Context

His path began at Apollon Smyrni U19 before a move to PAS Giannina in 2016. He joined Arsenal in 2018 for €2.1 million, followed by periods at 1.FC Nuremberg and VfB Stuttgart. After two spells at Arsenal, he moved to West Ham in August 2023 for €20 million. He stands 194 cm and uses his right foot.

Transfers and Outlook

Rumors linked him with an exit from the London Stadium earlier this summer, but he stayed alongside Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek. No release clause is documented. His contract is valid until 30 June 2028. West Ham relies on his profile to lead them back to the top flight.
