What we know
Tottenham are weighing a January move for Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis, with several Portuguese and English outlets listing Spurs among the suitors. His contract runs to June 2029, so any permanent deal would have to meet the €100 m release clause highlighted by TEAMtalk.
Interest first appeared on 10 Oct when A Bola and MSN, among others, reported Spurs’ interest. Sport Witness added on 12 Oct that Benfica and manager Marco Silva want to keep the forward. On 13 Oct TEAMtalk detailed the €100 m clause and called a deal “extremely difficult”, while Sport Witness echoed the same hurdle. By 19 Oct Sports Mole described Pavlidis as Spurs’ leading winter target but reiterated the £85 m clause as the sticking point.
No outlet reports a formal bid; the coverage stops at declared interest, leaving the January pursuit speculative, per Sports Mole.
