Yassir Zabiri is a Moroccan centre-forward. Born on 23 February 2005, he currently leads the line for Racing Santander on loan from Stade Rennais. He is a young talent proving himself well in the Spanish top flight.
Zabiri operates as a fluid forward who thrives playing on the shoulder of the last defender. He uses his left foot with great precision. A high center of gravity and excellent agility allow him to dribble out of tight spaces. His finishing is elite. He shows impressive acrobatic ability inside the penalty box. He possesses a natural vision for short-linking passes, though he needs to add more musculature to handle physical duels. His aerial game needs work.
His journey began at the Mohammed VI Football Academy before moving to Union Touarga Sportif in early 2024. A quick jump to Famalicão saw him cost €600k that summer, leading to a €10m transfer to Stade Rennais in February 2026. After limited minutes in Ligue 1, he moved to Cantabria to find regular starts. The 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup top-scorer has started brilliantly for Racing, netting five goals in his first five matches.
With his contract at Rennais running until June 2027, Racing Santander holds a high-value asset for the season. Major European clubs are monitoring his progress as he proves his goalscoring output in La Liga.
Yassir Zabiri, the Moroccan centre-forward currently at Racing Santander, is being courted by Leeds United and Ipswich Town. At present the move remains speculative with no confirmed bid.
Leeds United show strong interest in Moroccan striker Yassir Zabiri, currently at Racing Santander. His contract expires on 30 June 2027.
