Victor Osimhen

Executive Summary

Victor James Osimhen, born on 29 December 1998, lines up as a centre‑forward for Galatasaray. His contract runs until 30 June 2029 and the 2026‑27 season has seen him continue a scoring rhythm that produced 65 goals in 78 appearances for the Turkish side.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

At 186 cm and right‑footed, he blends raw pace with a powerful frame that lets him stretch defences vertically and win aerial duels. His off‑the‑ball movement creates space for teammates, while an instinctive finishing touch turns chances into goals. He also presses aggressively, disrupting opposition build‑up and sparking counters, though his link‑play in tight areas can be inconsistent, occasionally leaving him isolated when a quick lay‑off would keep an attack alive.

Career and Recent Context

After the Ultimate Strikers Academy he joined VfL Wolfsburg in January 2017 for €3.5 million. A productive spell at Royal Charleroi SC – first on loan, then a €3.5 million permanent move – earned a €22 million transfer to LOSC Lille in January 2019. A standout 2019‑20 campaign prompted a €79 million move to SSC Napoli in January 2020, where he helped secure the 2022‑23 Serie A title with 31 league goals. A loan to Galatasaray began in April 2024; he returned briefly to Napoli in June 2025 before sealing a permanent €75 million switch back to Galatasaray in July 2025, maintaining a near‑goal‑per‑game average since.

Transfers and Outlook

Recent market chatter links him with a move to Atlético de Madrid, while Premier League clubs have been mentioned in speculative reports.
