Teun Koopmeiners, born on 28 February 1998, is a left-footed defensive midfielder at Juventus FC. The Dutch international is no longer a regular starter under Luciano Spalletti and heads the exit list as the club restructures its midfield.
At 185 cm he carries a solid frame for a central player. Reports from his time in Turin note clear discomfort when asked to receive with his back to goal, a role he faced too often last season under Thiago Motta. Spalletti has tried to limit that exposure by dropping him deeper and widening his operating radius to let him face forward and use his passing range.
He moved to Atalanta BC in August 2021 for €17.9m and became a regular in Bergamo before a €58.4m transfer to Turin in August 2024. The 2024-25 campaign brought 44 appearances and 5 goals, while 2025-26 produced 44 appearances and 2 goals, with limited starts under Spalletti. For the Netherlands he played four matches against Japan, Sweden, Tunisia and Morocco, scoring a penalty in the shootout loss to Morocco.
The contract runs to 30 June 2029. The Bianconeri are actively trimming the roster and Koopmeiners is among the first names on the market, with Corriere dello Sport reporting serious proposals are being evaluated. A loan after mid-August is the most discussed route, with several Serie A clubs showing interest in his profile.
Everton are targeting a January loan for Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, with the Italian club reportedly open to a temporary exit. His contract runs to June 2029.
