Szymon Wlodarczyk

Executive Summary

Szymon Piotr Włodarczyk, born on 5 January 2003, operates as a centre-forward for SK Sturm Graz. The Polish striker has returned to the Austrian club after loan spells at Salernitana and Excelsior Rotterdam, and enters the current campaign with Championship sides monitoring his situation following two goals in four appearances. His contract runs until June 2027.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

At 192 cm, Włodarczyk provides a clear aerial reference point and uses his frame to disrupt defensive lines, hassling centre-backs while showing enough mobility to make runs in behind. The right-footer has yet to breach double figures in a senior league season; his best return stands at nine goals in thirty outings for Górnik Zabrze during 2022-23.

Career and Recent Context

Włodarczyk progressed through the Legia Warsaw academy, reaching the first team in 2020 before a move to Górnik Zabrze in January 2022. A productive half-season there prompted a €2.2m transfer to Sturm Graz in July 2023, where he featured in a 4-3-1-2 system under Christian Ilzer alongside William Bøving. Loans to Salernitana (August 2024) and Excelsior Rotterdam (August 2025) provided top-flight minutes without sustained goal returns. Back in Graz since June 2026, he now competes for starting minutes under Fabio Ingolitsch alongside summer arrival Umar Diakité, who opened his account with three goals in three games.

Transfers and Outlook

Championship scouts have noted his contract timeline and early-season form as indicators of a potential January move. Sturm's recruitment model, overseen by Andreas Schicker, has consistently developed and sold attacking talent such as Rasmus Højlund, Emanuel Emegha and Kelvin Yeboah, so a departure for a reasonable fee would fit the club's trajectory.
