Ryan Manning

Executive Summary

Ryan Manning, born on 14 June 1996, lines up mainly as a left‑back for Southampton and is tied to the club until 30 June 2027.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

His set‑piece delivery is a clear asset, though his modest frame can be a liability in aerial duels.

Career and Recent Context

Manning’s senior journey began at Mervue United and Galway United before a €68 k move to Queens Park Rangers in August 2015. A short loan to Rotherham United in 2018 preceded a permanent switch to Swansea City for €278 k in October 2020, where he became a fixture under Martin. He followed the manager to Southampton in November 2023, helping the team string together a 25‑match unbeaten run in the Championship. The current Premier League campaign has exposed defensive frailties that have limited his influence.

Transfers and Outlook

With the contract running for two more seasons, the club can either cash in on a modest fee or retain a versatile option should a return to the Championship become necessary.
