Centre-ForwardPortugal26 years oldPlays for ACSC FC Arges
Ricardo Matos operates as a centre-forward for ACSC FC Arges. Born on 25 March 2000, the Portuguese striker is currently a focal point in the Liga I attack. He has established himself as a consistent presence as he enters his physical peak.
At 183 cm, he provides a functional presence in the final area. Matos uses his right foot to find space and lead the line. While he shows flashes of link-up play, his primary role remains as a target forward. Improving his clinical finishing would make him a more consistent goal threat at this level.
He spent time with Ascoli, including a loan stint at Casertana, to seek regular minutes. His return to Portugal involved moves to SC Olhanense and Portimonense, alongside a loan at CF Os Belenenses. After a period with ASFC Buzau in 2024, he returned to Portimonense before joining ACSC FC Arges in August 2025. He remains a regular fixture in the squad throughout the current campaign.
The current contract with FC Arges runs until June 2027. He remains a valuable asset in the local market.
CFR Cluj coach Marius Șumudică has made Ricardo Matos his primary attacking target for the winter window, per ProSport and stiridecluj.ro. The Portuguese centre-forward impressed at FC Argeș; his contract runs to 2027.
