Reinier

Executive Summary

Reinier Jesus Carvalho is a Brazilian attacking midfielder currently playing for Atlético Mineiro. Born on 19 January 2002, he is working to solidify his role in the Série A after a long journey through various European leagues.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

At 185 cm, Reinier brings a physical presence that many creative players lack. He is a right-footed player who excels at finding space between the lines to attack the box. His goalscoring this season shows an improved clinical edge with four goals so far. However, he must improve his defensive work during high intensity transitions.

Career and Recent Context

He left Flamengo for Real Madrid in 2020 for a fee of €30 million. The following years saw him move through Borussia Dortmund, Girona, Frosinone, and Granada while struggling to find consistent starting minutes. Since moving to Atlético Mineiro in 2025, he has found a better rhythm, contributing four goals and two assists in 1,037 minutes.

Transfers and Outlook

Reinier is tied to his current club until the end of 2029. His recent form in Brazil could put him back on the radar of scouts looking for versatile depth.
