Pedro Vite is a central midfielder currently representing UNAM Pumas. Born on 9 March 2002, the Ecuadorian international has established himself as an engine in Liga MX. He is currently navigating a defining period following his move from the MLS.
Vite operates with high composure on the ball. He relies on his left foot to dictate play and transition the team into the attack. His work rate is consistent. He combines creative output with defensive recoveries and tackling. He excels at chance creation and finding pockets to break opposition lines. At 172 cm, he lacks physical presence in aerial duels, but his balance compensates when navigating tight spaces.
His journey began in the Independiente Valle youth system, winning the U20 Copa Libertadores in 2020. He joined the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2021 for €2.1 million and became a midfield staple. He amassed 140 appearances for the club, contributing 15 goals and nine assists. Since joining Pumas in July 2025 for €3.8 million, he has maintained a regular spot and earned selection for the 2026 World Cup squad.
Reports suggest Manchester City scouts visited Mexico to monitor Liga MX talent, specifically naming Vite as a prospect. He is contracted with Pumas until 2029. His consistent performances at the international level keep him on the radar of clubs seeking technical depth.
Manchester City are targeting central midfielder Pedro Vite from Pumas UNAM. The reports suggest a potential move during the next transfer window.
