Pedro Porro

Executive Summary

Pedro Antonio Porro Sauceda was born on 13 September 1999. He operates as a right-back for Tottenham Hotspur.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Porro functions as an offensive-minded full-back who seeks to overlap. He uses his right foot effectively to carry the ball into the final third and crosses frequently. His game reading is sharp, allowing him to intercept passes in the midfield. However, recurring muscular issues lately haunt him. Roberto De Zerbi has expressed concern about his physical load following heavy international duty. Defensively, he is alert in one-on-one situations but is often stretched when defending fast transitions.

Career and Recent Context

He started his journey at Rayo Vallecano before moving to Girona in 2017. A permanent move to Sporting CP in 2020 saw him develop into a key figure. Tottenham paid €40m for his services in January 2023. Despite a brief stint back at Sporting later that year, he remains a regular starter in London. He recently played only 19 minutes before the hamstring flared up.

Transfers and Outlook

Porro is under contract with Tottenham until June 2031. While interest has appeared in the past, the club seems set on keeping him for the long term. The current absence might affect immediate transfer interest, but his profile remains high-level.
