Attacking MidfieldGermany16 years oldPlays for Eintracht Frankfurt II
Niko Iličević is a left-footed attacking midfielder born on 31 October 2010. He now features for Eintracht Frankfurt II after stepping up from the youth setup in January 2026. Transfer rumours have sparked as he emerges as a potential Bundesliga player for the coming season.
He operates as a playmaker who pushes his team forward through carries and passing. Sources rate his goals, assists, and minutes highly compared to attacking midfielders in his league. He also appears at central midfield and centre-forward, showing positional flexibility.
Iličević joined the club from VfR Goldbach in January 2018, progressed to U17 in September 2024, then U19 in January 2025, and the reserve side in January 2026. An unofficial debut in May 2025 triggered an investigation because he was too young for senior football. He established himself with the under-19s in the national league and UEFA Youth League, scoring against Barcelona U19 on 9 December 2025 to become the fourth youngest goalscorer in that competition. Recent matches include a 90-minute outing against Sporting CP U19 on 24 February 2026 and an assist at Athletic Bilbao U19 on 3 February 2026. He holds German and Croatian citizenship.
His contract runs until June 2029, with an extension registered on 3 July 2026. No specific external interest has been disclosed.
