Nick Pope is a goalkeeper born on 19 April 1992. He currently sits outside the first-team plans at Newcastle United with his contract running until June 2027.
The available sources describe recent high-profile errors but offer little tactical detail. The data confirms he is a 198 cm right-footed keeper.
Pope came through Ipswich Town U18 before a long series of loans and lower-league moves. He joined Burnley in July 2016 for €1.3m and moved to Newcastle in January 2022 for €11.5m. He was undisputed first-choice from 2022, helping secure two Champions League spots and the Carabao Cup, but several errors over the last 12 months pushed him down the pecking order behind Lukas Hornicek and Ewen Jaouen. He missed the opening three matchdays of this season and his proposed £5m move to Ipswich collapsed in June over uncertainty regarding the head coach.
Celtic's Champions League exit killed a potential switch over wage concerns, and the Ipswich deal fell through. Matthias Jaissle hinted that Pope could still leave in windows outside the Premier League, and Newcastle remain willing to sanction a departure.
Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing a move for Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope as an experienced backup for next summer. His contract at Newcastle runs to 2027.
