Michael Olabode Kayode, born on 10 July 2004, is an Italian right-back. He plays for Brentford FC under a contract until 30 June 2032. The season has brought a first senior Italy call-up, celebrated with a strong performance in a 3-0 Premier League win over Chelsea in September 2026. Last campaign he logged 37 league appearances and 3,264 minutes, earning a Young Player of the Season nomination.
Right-footed, 179 cm, Kayode operates as a right-back who can stay deep and provide defensive stability. Gazzetta noted he followed Keith Andrews' plan to the letter, staying alongside centre-backs and pushing opposition wide threats away from him. He adds value on set pieces and with long throw-ins, a weapon repeatedly highlighted last season. He completed 55 successful dribbles in the Premier League, fourth-highest in the league, and impressed with consistent performances down the right flank.
He stepped up to ACF Fiorentina's senior side in January 2023, value then €800k. In January 2025 he left Fiorentina for the Premier League for €17.5m, value then €18m. At the new club he quickly became a regular, building on the defensive discipline and attacking thrust shown in his first full top-flight season.
Interest is growing. The club would first need budget room before considering a move.
Michael Kayode, Brentford right-back, is on Juventus' radar. The earliest report appeared on 15 May 2026, when The Athletic noted Kayode called Juventus links "nice" but wanted to improve at Brentford.
Inter Milan approached Michael Kayode, but the Brentford right-back says he wants to stay. His listed contract runs to 2032.
