Lukasz Skorupski

Executive Summary

Łukasz Skorupski is a Polish goalkeeper born on 5 May 1991. He is the first-choice keeper for Bologna FC 1909 in Serie A and is in the final year of his contract, which runs to 30 June 2027.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Skorupski operates in a 1-4-2-3-1 base system with a clear build-up remit. His main task is to verticalise with aerial launches toward the high wingers or central striker, while in low build he serves the ball on the ground to one of the two centre-backs to start play. He is described as able with both feet and shows good reading in the choice of central defender for the first pass. Central defenders are asked to widen to give width, allowing full-backs to push up and create numerical superiority in attack. When pressed after receiving from the keeper, they look for a midfielder or exchange between themselves to keep possession. Recent match notes highlight a reactive profile with five saves and no gaffes in the 3-1 home loss to Inter, and a season tally of 14 saves and eight goals conceded in five appearances without a clean sheet.

Career and Recent Context

Skorupski came through Górnik Zabrze, moving to the senior side in January 2008. A loan spell at Empoli followed in January 2015 with a value of €1.5m, before returning to Roma in June 2017 when his value stood at €7m. Recent outings include 90 minutes in the 1-3 loss to Inter on 17 October 2026 with a 6.5 rating, unused substitute at Lecce on 11 October 2026, 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Torino on 19 September 2026 with a 6.5 rating, and 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Sassuolo on 6 September 2026 with a 6.5 rating.
