Lorenzo Lucca

Executive Summary

Lorenzo Lucca – centre‑forward, right‑footed, born on 10 September 2000 – is back at SSC Napoli after a short spell at Nottingham Forest.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Standing 201 cm, Lucca fits the classic target‑man mould. He wins aerial duels, both in open play and on set pieces, and can hold up the ball to bring midfield runners into the attack. His physical presence forces defenders to stay compact, creating space for teammates. The limited game time at Napoli highlights a need for quicker off‑the‑ball movement and sharper finishing under pressure; his one goal from four starts at Forest suggests room for improvement in that area.

Career and Recent Context

A professional debut arrived with Vicenza in 2018. After a free transfer to Palermo in January 2020, he signed his first professional contract in July 2020. A €2.6 m move to Pisa in July 2021 was followed by a €1 m transfer to Ajax in April 2022, a return to Pisa in June 2023, and a €800 k switch to Udinese in July 2023. An €8 m permanent deal cemented his place at Udinese in January 2024, after which he briefly re‑joined Pisa in June 2024. He then moved to Napoli for €9 m in July 2025, spent January 2026 on loan at Nottingham Forest, and returned to Napoli in June 2026.

Transfers and Outlook

The January 2026 loan to Forest included a €2 m fee, after which Napoli exercised the option to bring him back permanently in June 2026. Rumours of interest from clubs needing a physical focal point have surfaced, but no concrete offers have materialised. With a contract through 2030, Napoli can either develop him as a specialist option in systems that value aerial strength or consider a future sale should a buyer value his size and target‑man attributes.
