Kenneth Vargas

Executive Summary

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Vargas favours his right foot and uses his frame to cut inside from the right flank. His recent match output includes a brace in a 3-1 away win at PAOK in October 2026 and a goal in a 5-2 home win over Puntarenas FC in April 2026. He has yet to record an assist in his current sample.

Career and Recent Context

Vargas began his senior career at CS Herediano II in January 2021. Moves to Municipal Grecia and back to Herediano II followed before he broke into the first team in January 2022. A transfer to Heart of Midlothian arrived in July 2023, with a permanent move and €900k fee in January 2024. He returned to Herediano in May 2024, then moved to Kalamata in January 2026. A brief spell at LD Alajuelense in June 2026 preceded his return to Heart of Midlothian, before the final move to Kalamata in January 2026. His contract with Kalamata runs until 30 June 2027.

Transfers and Outlook

No public release clause has been documented. Interest from other Super League Greece sides or second-tier European leagues is plausible if his goal-scoring form continues, though any move would depend on the club's willingness to sell with over a year remaining on the deal.
