Kelvin Yeboah

Executive Summary

Standing 185 cm tall, the right-footed striker arrived in MLS during the summer of 2024 to lead the line. He remains under contract with the club through 31 December 2027.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Yeboah functions primarily as a focal point in a two-striker system, using his frame to challenge defenders and create space for his attacking partners. He thrives when pressing high up the pitch, demonstrated by his ability to intercept careless passes in the attacking third and transition quickly into direct shooting opportunities. His composure from the penalty spot makes him a reliable set-piece option.

In possession, Yeboah is comfortable driving low balls across the face of the goal to force mistakes from opposing defenders. His game relies heavily on momentum and form; while he can endure scoreless stretches that put his starting spot at risk, he frequently hits hot streaks where he generates goal contributions in consecutive matches. He is also capable of playing off a classic target partner to generate quick combinations around the box.

Career and Recent Context

Yeboah progressed through several academies early in his career, including spells at Novara Calcio, Monza, West Ham United, AC London FC, and Gozzano. He made his professional breakthrough after joining WSG Tirol in January 2018. In June 2021, SK Sturm Graz acquired the striker for a €1.2m fee. His performances there prompted a move to Genoa CFC in August 2022 for €6.5m.

During his time under contract at Genoa, Yeboah went through a series of transfers and loans, including spells at Montpellier HSC, FC Augsburg (for a €340k fee), and Standard Liège (for a €460k fee). Minnesota United FC secured his permanent transfer in July 2024 for €2.5m.

Transfers and Outlook

His proven ability to produce single-season goal tallies in double digits ensures he stays settled in the squad's primary attacking rotation, though his long-term stay will depend on maintaining consistency up front.
