Furkan Dursun

Executive Summary

Furkan Dursun is an Austrian centre-forward born on 14 March 2005. He currently plays for FC Thun, having joined in October 2026 for a fee of €400k. His contract runs until 30 June 2029. Dursun’s path has been shaped by a long youth journey through the Rapid Vienna academy system, followed by a series of moves between the club’s senior and reserve sides, a short spell at SKN St. Pölten, and now a fresh start in Thun.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Dursun is a physically imposing forward, built at 190 cm, which gives him a natural presence in the penalty area. His career trajectory suggests a player developed within the Austrian youth framework, focusing on technical progression through academy ranks. No detailed public analysis of his tactical style, dribbling, or game-reading abilities is available, but his size and position point towards a target-man profile. Areas for development will likely involve refining his movement off the ball and improving his consistency in front of goal at senior level.

Career and Recent Context

Dursun began his youth career at FV 1210 Wien before moving to First Vienna FC in January 2012. He earned a step up to SK Rapid Wien II in January 2023, and made his senior debut with the first team in January 2024. After a period oscillating between the first team and the reserves in early 2025, he joined SKN St. Pölten later that same month.

Transfers and Outlook

His contract, set to expire in 2029, gives Thun a medium-term window to develop him. No current rumours or release clauses have been reported. His outlook will depend on how quickly he adapts to the demands of first-team football outside the Rapid Vienna system. If he can translate his physical attributes into consistent performances, he may attract interest from larger Swiss or Austrian clubs in the coming seasons.
