Fabian Bredlow

Executive Summary

Fabian Bredlow is a German goalkeeper born on 1995-03-02. The 190 cm keeper, comfortable with both feet, is approaching his 50th competitive appearance for Stuttgart and is preparing for his second Champions League outing.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Bredlow profiles as a stable, reliable presence rather than a high-profile shot-stopper. Sources describe him as a steady Rückhalt who fills the number-one role convincingly when called upon. In the 4-1 win over Cologne he was largely untroubled in the first half and then produced a concentrated sequence after the restart, reacting sharply to a close-range redirection, making a foot save under pressure and winning a one-on-one duel before a teammate cleared the follow-up. He is presented as dependable across Bundesliga and European fixtures in the young season, with coaches reaffirming long-standing trust in his ability to hold the team level when the starter is absent.

Career and Recent Context

He moved to Red Bull Salzburg in February 2014, returned to RB Leipzig in June 2015, and had a spell with Hallescher FC. He joined 1. He has been under contract since July 2019 and is one of the longest-serving professionals alongside Atakan Karazor. He had made 49 competitive appearances for Stuttgart before the current run and has been the consistent number two who now provides continuity at the top level, impressing in all Pflichtspiele of the early season and making his Champions League debut in January 2025.

Transfers and Outlook

Bredlow remains under contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2027-06-30. Public reporting focuses on his current run as the established starter rather than on external interest, with the narrative centred on his reliability and the club’s lack of quality drop when Seimen is unavailable.
