Cedric Teuchert

Executive Summary

Cedric Teuchert is a German centre-forward, born on 14 January 1997, who currently finds himself without a club. After wrapping up his spell in Major League Soccer, the right-footed attacker is back in Europe. He is actively searching for a new sporting project. He needs a team. Specifically, he wants a club where he can leverage his experience in his prime years.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Standing at 182 cm, Teuchert is a versatile forward who operates primarily as a centre-forward but can also drop deeper into attacking midfield or drift out to the right wing. His tactical flexibility allows him to link play effectively. This trait made him a key component of a fluid attacking trio during his time in North America. He is comfortable playing with his back to goal or running into channels, combining decent physical presence with smart off-the-ball movement. While his versatility is a major asset, he sometimes struggles with consistency over a full season. Refining his final-third efficiency when playing in wider roles remains an area where he can elevate his output.

Career and Recent Context

Teuchert developed in the youth system of 1.FC Nürnberg, progressing to the first team in February 2015. A move to FC Schalke 04 followed in March 2018 for a €1 million fee, beginning a journey through several German clubs. He had spells at Hannover 96 and 1.FC Union Berlin before returning to Hannover in February 2022, where he re-established his scoring touch. In July 2024, he made the jump to Major League Soccer, joining St. Louis CITY SC. In the United States, he quickly became part of an impressive offensive partnership alongside Marcel Hartel and Simon Becher. The fit was good. He helped revitalize a struggling attack before his American adventure concluded in January 2026.

Transfers and Outlook

The price is right. With 1.FC Köln facing a striker injury crisis, German media has already floated his name as a potential emergency signing. Teuchert has expressed a strong desire to return to European football, specifically targeting an ambitious project where he can assume a leadership role. A return to former club Hannover 96 remains a narrative to watch as winter transfer discussions begin to heat up.
