Arnaud Kalimuendo

Executive Summary

Arnaud Kalimuendo Muinga is a French centre-forward currently navigating a challenging period at Nottingham Forest.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

Standing at 178 cm, the right-footed attacker operates primarily as a mobile focal point who looks to exploit spaces in transition. While he possesses decent instincts in the penalty box, his ability to contribute consistently to the build-up play remains a work in progress. A costly error that led to an opposition goal in a recent cup tie against Leeds United highlighted his occasional lapses in possession under pressure. He is most effective when allowed to run onto through balls rather than holding up play against physical central defenders.

Career and Recent Context

His initial adaptation to English football was disrupted by frequent managerial changes at the City Ground, prompting a loan to Eintracht Frankfurt where he scored six goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances. Despite showing promise in the 2026 pre-season with goals against Notts County, Blackburn Rovers, and Bayer Leverkusen, his competitive opportunities have remained limited. A disappointing 60-minute display in a 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Leeds United on 25 August 2026 has further complicated his standing in the squad.

Transfers and Outlook

With his contract running until 30 June 2030, Nottingham Forest hold a strong negotiating position but are open to a sale. Eintracht Frankfurt have held talks to secure his return, though the English club is demanding a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy rather than a simple temporary deal.
