Anton-Leander Donkor, born 11 November 1997, is a German left-back of Ghanaian descent. He currently plays for FC Schalke 04 II in the Regionalliga West, standing at 186 cm and using both feet.
Donkor switched from attacker to left-back during his time at SV Waldhof Mannheim. Sporting director Marc Wilmots described him as assertive, strong in the tackle, and capable of using his pace at both ends of the pitch. His game is built on physicality and directness, and he has eight youth-level caps for Germany.
He played for FC Hansa Rostock, FC Carl Zeiss Jena, and SV Waldhof Mannheim before joining Eintracht Braunschweig in June 2022. He made 67 competitive appearances over two seasons in the 2. Bundesliga, then moved to FC Schalke 04 on a free transfer in May 2024. By April 2026 he was assigned to FC Schalke 04 II.
A year ago it was €450k. His contract runs until June 2027, and his agent is EMG Mundial. No transfer rumours are active.
KVC Westerlo and Go Ahead Eagles have inquired about Anton Donkor, a left-back with no future at Schalke who could leave for free. His listed contract runs to June 2027.
Go Ahead Eagles and Westerlo are tracking Anton Donkor, with voetballnieuws.be and Fussball Daten both reporting on 28 Oct that the Dutch and Belgian clubs have inquired; each cites a German outlet (Bild and Sport Bild)…
Reports focus on a potential transfer of Anton Donkor from FC Schalke 04 II to the Greek club OFI Crete. The German left-back is currently contracted to Schalke until June 2027.
