Alexis Mac Allister, born on 1998-12-24, operates as a central midfielder for Liverpool FC. His contract runs until 2028-06-30. The Argentina international entered a renewed contract phase after initial discussions stalled.
Mac Allister controls games through intelligent positioning and precise passing. His right foot delivers accurate crosses and powerful shots. He reads play effectively, anticipating transitions before they unfold. Physicality remains adequate for his build, though aerial duels occasionally expose him against taller opponents. His dribbling in tight spaces shows technical confidence.
Mac Allister progressed from Argentinos Juniors youth ranks to senior football in Argentina. He moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2019 after establishing himself at Boca Juniors. His performances helped Brighton secure a historic sixth-place Premier League finish in 2021/22. Liverpool acquired him in January 2023 for €42m. Recent contract uncertainty emerged after initial extension talks stalled, though renewed discussions began in September 2026.
Liverpool restarted contract negotiations with Mac Allister in September 2026, aiming to secure his future until 2028. Real Madrid and Manchester City monitored his situation during his initial contract standoff. The club expects him to prove his worth through consistent performances to earn an extension.
Real Madrid are weighing a 2027 move for Alexis Mac Allister, with several outlets describing a potential player-exchange deal to lower Liverpool’s valuation. His listed contract runs to June 2028.
