Abdoulaye Doumbia, born on 27 October 2007, is a defensive midfielder from Côte d'Ivoire currently playing in the Allsvenskan for BK Häcken. He has quickly become a regular starter in the Gothenburg side’s midfield.
The right‑footed player stands 176 cm tall and operates as a holding midfielder. His reading of the game shows up in a high number of interceptions and recoveries, while his passing is accurate and frequently breaks lines. He wins roughly half of his ground duels, contributes two goals and three assists this season, but his aerial success rate and dribble conversion remain modest; he has collected seven yellow cards.
Doumbia moved from ASEC Mimosas’ under‑19 team to BK Häcken in January 2026. In the 2026 Allsvenskan campaign he has logged 1 980 minutes, posting an average rating of 7.66 and ranking among the league’s top defensive midfielders for minutes played and assists.
FC Basel has opened talks with both the player and his club, and a summer move is being discussed. BK Häcken will decide whether to cash in now or keep him for another season.
