Aaron Ramsdale

Executive Summary

Aaron Ramsdale, born 14 May 1998, is a right‑footed goalkeeper standing 190 cm tall. He currently plays for Southampton on a contract that runs to June 2028.

Playing Style and Key Attributes

During his first season at Arsenal he produced a string of excellent saves, showing sharp reflexes and confidence claiming crosses. A costly error in the April 2023 draw with Southampton, however, marked the start of his loss of the starting spot after David Raya arrived.

Career and Recent Context

He joined Bournemouth in 2017, spent loan periods at Chesterfield and AFC Wimbledon, then returned to Sheffield United for a €20.5 m fee in 2020. A €21.4 m move took him to Southampton in August 2024, a short €4.6 m stint at Newcastle followed in February 2025, and he rejoined Southampton in June 2026.

Transfers and Outlook

With his deal expiring in 2028, any future move will depend on interest from clubs seeking an experienced Premier League goalkeeper.
