What we know
Toni Fruk, the Croatian attacking midfielder at HNK Rijeka, is being chased by Olympique Lyonnais. Earlier reports from Foot01 and Le Quotidien du Sport in October 2026 described negotiation talks that eventually collapsed.
Lyonnais interest persists though, with Lyon footnotes indicating a potential move within their 10m budget ceiling. The initial reports from late October claimed deals were near but failed, with agents confirming the Croatian midfielder was close to joining during the summer. Lyonfoot similarly noted the club had expressed interest, citing a 10m target for the transfer window. While some outlets echoed the earlier speculation, none have secured a formal bid since those past negotiations ended without success. The situation remains uncertain as no final offer has been made. Sources consistently describe the process as ongoing negotiation rather than a signed commitment. The player's contract at Rijeka runs to June 2027, leaving the timing and financial details still unclear.
Foot01 continues to cover the possibility.

Under a year left: the selling club risks losing him for free next summer, which usually lowers the price.
