What we know
Manchester United is among several Premier League clubs monitoring Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni, whose contract runs to June 2029. The False 9 reports an £87m release clause in his deal.
Multiple outlets describe the interest as passive tracking rather than active bidding, with the player intending to stay at Benfica for now. The story began on 2 Oct, when TEAMtalk, OneFootball and EPL Index reported the interest. On 3 Oct, The False 9, Record and fotbolltransfers.com carried the same claim. eight outlets including Yahoo Sports, Goal and CaughtOffside repeated the story, attributing it variously to TEAMtalk, The Peoples Person, TalkSport, Goal and Ekrem Konur. Sport Witness and Football Place, both on 7 Oct, explicitly denied any imminent move, stating the player intends to remain at Benfica. Yahoo Sports,, adds that no formal approaches are currently being prepared. No outlet reports a bid, a fee agreement or a completed deal.
MSN, on 21 Oct, repeats the claim that five clubs are gathering information.
