Nicolò Schira and Siamo Roma broke the story on 6 July; RomaDaily (citing TuttoMercatoWeb) echoed it, adding that Gasperini wanted to assess Lulli in pre‑season. On 9 August RomaPress, citing Gazzetta Regionale, said Roma had decided to keep him, closing the door on a loan. By 4 September Settecalcio wrote that a verbal agreement existed but Gasperini kept the player, and the move fell through; Yahoo Sports (citing Tuttosport) confirmed on 25 September that the loan plan was scrapped.
Both Settecalcio and Yahoo Sports describe the deal as dead, with no formal bid reported.
