What we know
Bayern Munich are monitoring Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno as a veteran backup for Jonas Urbig, with a potential move in summer 2027. Bild places the experienced keeper on an internal list as Manuel Neuer’s era winds down, and Leno’s contract at Fulham runs to June 2027, making a free transfer plausible.
Bavarian Football Works adds that Leno would accept a deputy role. The story surfaced on 29 September when Sport Witness and FourFourTwo, among five outlets, relayed Bild’s report that Leno had been added to Bayern’s shortlist. On 30 September Bild itself, Bavarian Football Works, OneFootball and TNT Sports – the latter citing CFBayern Insider – repeated the interest, with TNT Sports framing it as a possible successor to Neuer. Goal echoed the monitoring angle on 1 October, again attributing it to Bild.
Goal notes the interest remains at the monitoring stage, with any move only envisaged for summer 2027.
